A HELPING HAND
Practical file guides
Start with a concrete example, choose the right settings and check your copy before using it.
- Split scanned receipts into separate PDF files
Three receipts share one scanned sheet, but you need one file per receipt. Select the useful pages, check each frame and download separate PDFs. Your scan stays on your device.
- Crop a photo from a scan and meet a file-size limit
A small photo fills only part of an A4 scan, or a website rejects your upload. Crop away the blank paper, choose the required dimensions and check the file size without uploading the scan.
- Extract a video’s audio as MP3 or save a short section
Keep the audio from your own recording as an MP3, either in full or as a selected section. Choose a profile, listen to the result and download a copy while the video stays on your device.
- Create a QR code and add it to an image
Put a link on a poster, business card or product photo. FilePico creates a static QR code containing your address or text directly, without a FilePico redirect.
- Add your name or logo to a batch of photos
Make signed copies for a catalogue, listing or social post. Apply the same text or logo settings to several photos while keeping the original files untouched.
- Number PDF pages without numbering the cover
Add page numbers to a report while leaving its cover untouched. Set the first document page to mark independently from the first number you want readers to see.
- Compare two text versions and review the changes
Find a changed date, a missing sentence or a corrected paragraph. The comparison highlights differences in writing without changing either source or deciding which version is correct.
- Split scanned book spreads into single PDF pages
A scan of an open book puts two reading pages on one PDF page. Split selected spreads into left and right pages while leaving a single-page cover intact. This is different from dividing a PDF into two separate files.
- Combine separately scanned front and back pages
A scanner without automatic duplex scanning can produce one PDF of front pages and another of backs. Alternate the two sets to restore reading order, reversing the back-page order when the stack was scanned backwards.
- Turn SRT or VTT subtitles into a text transcript
Subtitle files already contain words and timings. Remove the timing markers to obtain readable text you can copy or download. This tool needs an SRT or VTT file; it does not listen to a video or transcribe speech.
- Convert a DjVu book to PDF and check the result
Open a .djvu or .djv document in a regular PDF reader by converting selected pages into images inside a PDF. FilePico processes the source on your device; the result does not rebuild the book’s text layer.
