A HELPING HAND

Convert JPG to PNG or PNG to JPG: which format?

Adapt an image to the format required by a form, an application or your document.

Choose a useful format

JPG often suits photos and offers adjustable quality. It cannot keep transparency: transparent areas become white. PNG keeps transparency and rendered pixels but may be larger.

Converting JPG to PNG does not restore details lost in earlier compression. Always keep the original. The converter also accepts static WebP files; WebP animations are refused.

Convert the batch

  1. Add images, then choose JPG or PNG as the output format.
  2. For JPG, adjust quality and convert. Pixel dimensions remain unchanged.
  3. Download an image or the ZIP, then open the files to check background, details and format.

Example: a transparent logo

Source: logo.png with a transparent background
JPG output: logo on white
PNG output: transparent background kept
Changing format does not crop the logo

Limits and privacy

50 images, 20 MB each, 100 MB total and 24 million pixels per image. Maximum 100 MB prepared images and 150 MB output. WebP: maximum 12,000 pixels per side.

Copies are re-encoded without copying original metadata. Originals stay unchanged; download results before closing or changing language. Images are not uploaded for conversion.
