A HELPING HAND

Extract selected PDF pages in the order you choose

Share only a few pages, prepare a chapter or put an appendix first. FilePico collects your selection in a new PDF while keeping the original unchanged on your device.

Identify positions within the PDF

Use positions in the file: its first sheet is page 1 even if a different number is printed on it. Covers, contents pages and blank sheets can shift a book's printed numbering.

Before extracting, identify the first and last pages of your passage. For scans with two printed pages on one sheet, split the double pages first if you need to select them individually.

Enter a selection and its order

  1. Open Extract PDF pages and import the PDF. Check the active document before entering a selection.
  2. Enter positions separated by commas and ranges such as 2-3. The entry order determines the order of pages in the extract.
  3. Create and download the copy. Open the final file and check its beginning, page transitions and end.
Selection: 5, 2-3
Result: page 5, then page 2, then page 3

Example: the appendix before the explanation

Source: 8 pages
Selection: 8, 3-4
Expected extract: 3 pages, ordered 8 → 3 → 4

For an eight-page file, you want the appendix on page 8 followed by the explanation on pages 3 and 4. Enter 8, 3-4 to obtain three pages in that order.

This leaves the original unchanged. Use Organise PDF pages to move pages visually while retaining the rest. Use Remove PDF pages to discard sheets and keep the remaining pages in source order.

Fix a rejected selection and check the copy

For a rejected selection, check positions against the active document's page count. An out-of-range position or invalid range should be corrected deliberately, rather than replaced at random.

Extraction copies entire pages: it does not redact a confidential paragraph within a retained page or add OCR. Work with an unsigned copy and check forms or annotations in the output.

Download before closing, reloading or changing language. Review the selected content before sharing, especially when the document contains personal records.
