A HELPING HAND

Remove unwanted pages from a PDF

Remove blank sheets or unwanted appendices, then check that your new copy contains the right pages.

Choose pages to remove

  1. Import the PDF and identify unwanted page positions, counting any cover as page 1. If several PDFs are already loaded, choose the active document first.
  2. Enter the pages to remove, not the pages to keep. For example, 2, 7-8 removes three pages. At least one page must remain.
  3. Create and download the new copy. Open it and check both its page count and the pages around each removal.

Example: remove a blank page and an appendix

Source PDF: 8 pages
Remove: 2, 7-8
Keep: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6
Result: 5 pages, in original order

Avoid mistakes

Blank pages are not detected automatically. Check that a seemingly blank page does not contain useful reverse-side content or small print. For thumbnail-based reordering, open Organise pages.

Removing pages does not update printed page numbers. Check page count and content in the downloaded PDF.

Moving through the preview only changes the page you are viewing. It does not mark a page for removal. The page selection field and its summary define what the next operation will remove.

Limits and originals

50 MB per PDF; 30 files, 150 MB and 1,000 pages per session; maximum 150 MB output. Protected PDFs need an unlocked copy.

Keep signed originals: digital signatures do not remain valid. Form fields may be lost. Processing is local, without upload; download before closing or changing language.

Remove pages or keep a selection?

For the eight-page example, enter 2, 7-8 to remove those positions. The new PDF contains source pages 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in that order. To keep only pages 2, 7 and 8 instead, use Extract pages.

Page positions refer to the loaded source, including its cover. Creating a result does not replace that source. If you change the selection and create another copy, the numbers still refer to the original loaded document unless you have chosen Continue with this PDF.

What happens if the selection is wrong?

You cannot remove every page. An invalid selection shows an error; it does not delete your original file or replace a previously prepared download. Check the message and the result summary before saving.

Changing the selection marks an existing download as a previous result. Create the PDF again to apply the new selection. Keep any copy you need before continuing with a result, closing the tab or changing language.
