A HELPING HAND
How to organise PDF pages: a step-by-step example
Reorder, rotate or remove PDF pages for free, with no account or file upload. Follow a simple example and check your new PDF copy before sharing it.
How do I reorder pages in a PDF?
- Open Organise PDF pages and choose your file.
- Browse the thumbnails before changing the order. Identify the cover, supporting documents and appendices.
- On each card, Page 3 means the third page in the original file. This reference stays the same when you move the card.
Printed page numbers are not updated by this tool. Keep them separate from the original-page reference shown by FilePico.
Move, rotate or remove a page
- Move a card with the ← and → buttons. With a mouse, you can also drag it to its new position.
- Select Rotate on a card to add a clockwise quarter turn. Select it again if the page needs a half turn.
- Select Remove on unwanted cards, such as a blank sheet. Check the content first: FilePico does not automatically detect blank pages.
On a phone, the arrow buttons let you arrange the pages without dragging. They also work with the keyboard: use Tab, then Enter.
Keep at least one page. Restore original pages brings back the original order, removed pages and initial orientations.
Example: move a cover and rotate a supporting page
- On Page 3, select ← twice to move the cover to the beginning.
- On Page 2, select ← once to place the supporting document after the cover. In this example its text is turned to the left: select Rotate once to make it upright.
- Check that Page 4 is blank and not needed, then remove it. The remaining three cards follow the order 3, 2, 1.
Before: 1. Appendix · 2. Sideways document · 3. Cover · 4. Blank sheet After: 3. Cover → 2. Upright document → 1. Appendix Expected result: one three-page PDF
This example is fictional. For your document, follow the recipient’s requested order and check that no useful supporting page was removed.
Create and check the copy you will send
- Select Create organised PDF, then download the result.
- Open the downloaded file in your PDF reader. Check the first page, the order, orientation and number of pages.
- After another edit, create the result again before downloading. Keep the original on your device.
Organising changes the document’s pages; it does not edit printed text or recognise characters in a scan. Prefer an unsigned copy: editing a PDF can invalidate its digital signature.
Useful limits
Thumbnail organisation supports up to 150 pages and a password-free PDF up to 50 MB. For a longer document, prepare a section with Extract PDF pages or Split a PDF into two files.
Processing stays in your browser without uploading the file. Thumbnails may take time on a phone.
If you have several separate PDFs, combine them with Merge PDF files before arranging the pages. Download results you want to keep before closing, reloading or changing language.
Another step for your document?
- Extract PDF pages — Keep only selected pages or an appendix.
- Rotate PDF pages — Rotate several pages by the same angle.
- Merge PDF files — Combine separate PDFs before organising their pages.
