A HELPING HAND
Resynchronise SRT or VTT subtitles with an offset
When every subtitle appears early or late by the same interval, shift timestamps without rewriting the text.
Choose offset direction
- Import or paste an SRT or VTT subtitle file.
- Enter an offset in seconds: positive for later, negative for earlier. Up to three decimal places are accepted.
- Prepare the result, check the initial timestamps and download the adjusted file.
Example: a subtitle appears early
Original start: 00:00:10,000 Offset: +2.5 seconds New start: 00:00:12,500 Each cue end is shifted by the same interval
Check beginning and end
If a timestamp would become negative, processing is refused: cues are not silently deleted or shortened. Choose a smaller negative offset.
Test the download in your player at the beginning, middle and end. If the error grows over time, a constant offset is insufficient: this tool does not correct playback speed differences.
Formats and limits
Maximum 2 MB text and 20,000 cues. VTT shifting keeps NOTE, STYLE and REGION blocks and updates inline timestamps. MPEG-synchronised X-TIMESTAMP-MAP files are not supported.
The original stays intact and processing is local. Download your copy before leaving; keep the original to return to its timestamps.
