A HELPING HAND
Turn a README or Markdown notes into an HTML page
Markdown keeps your notes easy to edit. HTML presents them in a browser or lets you integrate them into a website. Choose the export that matches your recipient’s needs.
Try a complete sample note
- Open Convert Markdown to HTML and choose Try the sample note. The fictional file includes accents, a list, a table and a code block.
- Check the schedule table and Python block in the preview. Edit a line: the preview updates automatically after a short pause.
- Download the HTML page and open it in your browser. Text stays selectable and the layout works offline.
# Meeting notes - Prepare the folder - Review the result **Deadline: Wednesday**
HTML fragment or complete page?
Copy HTML fragment produces the content’s headings, paragraphs and other elements without a complete document or stylesheet. Paste the code into an editor that accepts HTML: your website controls its appearance.
Download HTML page creates a standalone file with a title, styles and content. It opens without a connection. This is not a PDF or Word file, and it does not automatically publish a website.
Prepare your Markdown
Import a UTF-8 .md, .markdown or .txt file, or paste your text. A # introduces a heading, **text** marks bold text, and triple backticks delimit a code block. Leave a blank line between paragraphs.
Lists, simple tables, quotes, links and code blocks are supported. Extensions for mathematical formulas, diagrams and footnotes are not interpreted. A single newline within a paragraph does not always create a visible line break.
Images, links and existing HTML
Images are represented by their description; their files are not fetched or embedded. Raw HTML is displayed as text, including formatting tags. The preview and export contain no scripts or remote content.
Http, https, mailto and simple fragment links can be kept. Relative paths and other schemes are disabled. Check links before sharing the file. The HTML page does not add automatic navigation.
Keep your work
Limits are 1 MB per file, 200,000 characters and 10,000 lines. Deeply nested or particularly complex documents can be rejected; processing stops after 10 seconds. Try a shorter excerpt if needed.
A failed import keeps your current text. Editing the source or title temporarily disables exports until the new preview is ready, to prevent downloading an outdated version. Cancel keeps your text; Refresh preview starts preparation again.
Switching tools keeps this tab’s session. Switching language, reloading or closing the page loses it. Download your result and keep your original Markdown file. Content is not saved automatically.
