Steps, formats and limits
How to use this tool
- Add your JPG or PNG images.
- Choose Gentle, Balanced or Strong, then select Compress images.
- Compare the before/after file sizes and previews. Download an image or the complete ZIP.
Which compression level should I choose?
Gentle keeps dimensions at 90% JPG quality. Balanced uses 75% quality and a maximum of 2,560 pixels on the longest side. Strong uses 55% and 1,600 pixels. Proportions are preserved and small images are never enlarged.
Can you guarantee a particular file size?
No. The result depends on the image and browser. If a generated copy is not smaller, the original file is kept. Choose a stronger setting if needed, and check fine details before sending.
What happens to transparent PNGs?
Compressed copies are JPG files: transparent areas become white. If the original PNG is already smaller, it is kept unchanged, with its transparency.
Are metadata and original files kept?
Your originals on your device stay unchanged. Generated JPG copies do not carry the original metadata. Files kept because they are smaller remain byte-for-byte originals, including metadata.
What are the limits?
Up to 50 images, 20 MB per image, 100 MB total and 24 million pixels per image. Results are limited to 150 MB. Everything is processed locally in your browser. Download results before closing the tab or changing language.
