Steps, formats and limits
How to use this tool
- Choose a short video or try the synthetic sample.
- Keep the resolution or choose Make it smaller, then start compression.
- Compare sizes, check picture and sound, then download your MP4. Keep the original.
Which videos work?
MP4/MOV/M4V containing H.264, or WebM with VP8/VP9. Up to 50 MiB, 60 seconds and 1,920 pixels on the longest side; some high-resolution clips reach the processing budget sooner. Standard 8-bit SDR only. HEVC, HDR, transparency, multichannel audio and offset track starts are refused.
Does it keep the sound?
The first audio track is re-encoded to AAC at 96 kbit/s. Silent videos stay silent. Output video is H.264, up to 30 fps. Re-encoding can lower quality; there is no guaranteed target size.
What if the copy is larger?
The original stays available in the source preview. The tool explains that the copy is not smaller; keep your original rather than replacing it. A previously successful download survives an error or cancellation.
Can I use a phone?
A computer is recommended. Real-phone performance has not yet been validated. The shared engine (about 32 MB) loads on first import. Processing stays in your browser; download before closing or changing language.
