Steps, formats and limits
How to use this tool
- Add HEIC or HEIF photos, or try the sample.
- Choose JPG for a form or PNG to avoid further lossy compression.
- Convert and download individual photos or the complete ZIP. Check your copies before sharing.
Which files can I use?
Static HEIC/HEIF photos supported by the local HEVC decoder. Up to 10 photos, 20 MB each, 50 MB source files total, 24 million pixels and 12,000 pixels per side. Prepared images: 100 MB; downloads: 150 MB. Multi-image files, HEIF sequences, AVIF and videos are refused. A Live Photo’s motion is not exported; only its separate HEIC still photo can be converted.
Are orientation, metadata and HDR preserved?
HEIF rotation/mirroring and a simple EXIF orientation fallback are applied. Check the preview. Original metadata, including location, is not copied. The output is a standard 8-bit image; HDR and unusual colour profiles may look different. Keep your originals.
What if a photo fails?
An invalid, unsupported or oversized file is reported while existing photos and downloads stay available. Cancel HEIC reading stops the current photo and remaining queued imports. Large photos can be slow on phones.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The decoder is hosted with FilePico and loaded only when reading a HEIC photo. Processing stays on your device. Download before closing or changing language.
