Steps, formats and limits

How to use this tool

  1. Open a JPG, PNG or PDF, or try an example.
  2. Click and drag to draw a black rectangle. For PDFs, move between pages; each page keeps its rectangles. Undo the last rectangle if needed.
  3. Create your copy and download it. Every PDF page is recreated as an image, with no selectable text. Reopen the downloaded file and review every page before sharing.

Can the black rectangles be removed from the export?

The selected pixels are replaced by opaque black pixels. PDF pages are recreated as images in a new document, without source text, original objects, attachments or metadata. Your source file stays unchanged on your device.

How do I mask several PDF pages?

Use Previous page and Next page. Each page keeps its own rectangles. Undo last rectangle affects the current page only. The exported PDF includes every page in its original order, including pages without rectangles.

Can I use a keyboard or a phone?

Yes. Draw directly with a mouse or finger. For keyboard drawing, focus the image, use arrow keys to move the cursor and Enter to set each corner. Escape cancels the current drawing.

Which PDFs can I use?

Up to 20 MB and 50 pages. Protected PDFs, forms and digital signatures are rejected; use a flattened copy from your PDF reader and keep the original. Up to 40 rectangles per page. Export: up to 64 MB; about 150 dpi, capped at 3,000 pixels on the longest side, 6 million pixels per page and 120 million in total. Visible page dimensions and orientation are preserved. Text, links, bookmarks and interactive fields are not preserved.

Which images can I use?

One JPG or PNG, up to 20 MB and 24 million pixels; up to 40 rectangles. Dimensions are preserved, transparent areas become white and the result must fit within 32 MB. JPG is lossy; PNG preserves painted pixels.

What should I check before sharing?

Download and reopen the copy. Check every page, name, number, reflection, barcode and QR code you intend to hide. Information outside the rectangles remains visible. Share the exported copy, not the original.
